3rd Annual Tollgate Farm Pumpkinfest

MSU Tollgate Farm and Education Center offers the 3rd Annual Pumpkinfest sponsored by VIBE Credit Union October 8th and 9th, 2016. The Novi Public Library and the Walled Lake City Library will help host this special family event which features an afternoon of fun and frolic for all ages. Take a wagon ride to the patch to pick your perfect pumpkin. Games, story times, live animals, food, bonfi res, and children’s straw maze all make for a great fall outing. Entry and children’s play area are free of charge. Fees apply for pumpkins, food, select children’s activities, and parking. Come join the fall festivities! Authors Live Luncheon

A Community Reads!

Born to Run CoverA Community Reads! In its seventh year and going strong with more than 700 readers annually, the Neighborhood Library Association (NLA) introduces Chris McDougall’s Born to Run as its 2016 Community Read title.

As part of the NLA will again partner with the libraries of Lyon Township, Northville District, Salem-South Lyon, Wixom and Walled Lake City Library to host a variety of book discussions and programs leading up to a special author presentation on Wednesday, November 2 at 7pm.

Battle of the Books Coaches’ Kick-off Meeting

Team registration forms for Battle of the Books will be available on the Library’s website beginning Monday, November 28th. Registration is limited to the first twelve teams to return their registration form. Teams consist of students in 5th or 6th grade that live or attend school in Novi. All teams must register by this meeting or a place for their team is not guaranteed. At this meeting titles for this year’s Battle will be announced, a set of books for each team will be distributed, and a discussion of coaches’ responsibilities will be conducted. Coaches will also have the opportunities to see a DVD of a previous year’s Battle. Bring your questions and, if you’ve been a coach before, your suggestions for “newbies!”
