He spent his youth defending his neighbors, his family, and his country, fi rst from the Nazi atrocities of World War II and then from the Soviet oppression of the ensuing Cold War. As a young man, Charles was captured and jailed by the Communists and rescued by an underground resistance network. Border Crossings is one man’s remarkable tale of his incredible life and a testament to the human capacity to survive. In July 2007, Charles died. His wife Sandra will share Charles’ story.

In this memoir, Finley recounts his experiences with the stars on the revitalized Red Wings franchise in recent years, including Steve Yzerman and Nicklas Lidstrom, as well as heroes of previous generations, including 1972 Hockey Hall of Famer Gordie Howe. Along the way, Dr. Finley shares some of the most vivid accounts ever written on the subject of sports injuries.

BOB DUFF - Original Six Dynasties: Detroit Red Wings
Currently the sports columnist for the Windsor Star, Duff has covered the NHL since 1988 and is a contributor to The Hockey News and MSNBC.com.
