Participate with Novi Community School District Superintendent Dr. Steve Matthews in a parent book club. Read books that challenge, inspire, and help us as we work with our children and the students in our district. Engage with each other in meaningful conversations about the challenges of raising successful children and building successful schools. Open to 35 participants. At registration, a copy of the current book will be provided. Registration is required for each book discussion and can be done through the Library’s first floor Information Desk.
Authentic Indian Cooking
Indian dishes will be the specialty of the day. Don’t miss wonderful tips, tidbits, demonstrations and, of course, samples of delicious dishes. Recipe handouts will be provided as well as an entertaining and educational time.

MSU Tollgate Farm and Education Center offers the 3rd Annual Pumpkinfest sponsored by VIBE Credit Union October 8th and 9th, 2016. The Novi Public Library and the Walled Lake City Library will help host this special family event which features an afternoon of fun and frolic for all ages. Take a wagon ride to the patch to pick your perfect pumpkin. Games, story times, live animals, food, bonfi res, and children’s straw maze all make for a great fall outing. Authors Live Luncheon
In partnership with Fox Run, Fox Run Y.O.U., Book Beat and the Friends of the Novi Library enjoy a lunch experience that brings people together to talk about great books and hear from the authors that created them! A Community Reads! In its seventh year and going strong with more than 700 readers annually, the Neighborhood Library Association (NLA) introduces Chris McDougall’s Born to Run as its 2016 Community Read title.
As part of the NLA will again partner with the libraries of Lyon Township, Northville District, Salem-South Lyon, Wixom and Walled Lake City Library to host a variety of book discussions and programs leading up to a special author presentation on Wednesday, November 2 at 7pm.
You will learn; 1) Why do women who take thyroid medications still have symptoms, 2) Why has there been no new interventions for thyroid in the last 35 years, 3) Why a pill whether natural or synthetic is not the answer to managing thyroid, 4) Is it feasible to reverse autoimmune thyroid disorders like Hashimoto’s and Graves.

Battle of the Books Coaches’ Kick-off Meeting
Team registration forms for Battle of the Books will be available on the Library’s website beginning Monday, November 28th. Registration is limited to the first twelve teams to return their registration form. Teams consist of students in 5th or 6th grade that live or attend school in Novi. All teams must register by this meeting or a place for their team is not guaranteed. At this meeting titles for this year’s Battle will be announced, a set of books for each team will be distributed, and a discussion of coaches’ responsibilities will be conducted. Coaches will also have the opportunities to see a DVD of a previous year’s Battle. Bring your questions and, if you’ve been a coach before, your suggestions for “newbies!”
American Red Cross Blood Drive
