Scrapbook For A Cause

Mar 30-Smart Parents: Parenting for Powerful Learning by Bonnie Lathram and Tom VanderArk.

Participate with Novi Community School District Superintendent, Dr. Steve Matthews, in a parent to parent book club. Read books that challenge, inspire, and help us as we work with our children and the students in our district. This program will be open to 35 participants. At registration a free copy of the current book will be provided.

Race, Death and Justice in Detroit

In 1925 Ossian Sweet, an African American physician, attempted to move into an all-white neighborhood. People gathered outside his house and a man in the crowd was shot and killed. Dr.Sweet was put on trial for his murder and would face Detroit justice. Professor Dennis Fiems will discuss this gripping and true moment in Detroit history.
