TEEN SPACE

printer-friendly Spring Cleaning (Teen Space Donation Drive) - April 1-May 31, 2016

The Novi Public Library has partnered with the City of Novi Parks Recreation and Cultural Services Department, and Novi Youth Assistance to offer a Teen Space in the West Side Meeting Room of the Library on Mondays- Fridays 2-5pm (except over vacation breaks) during the school year. The Teen Space was created for students to “hang out” and socialize when traditional use of the library is not needed, and is open to students in grades 7-12.

Introduction to Robotics Programming

Club Z of Novi will provide a brief demonstration of robotics programming. Participants can signup for an introduction to robotics programming course offered by Club Z at the demonstration. For scheduling and details, contact Dean at (248) 344-2200.

Summer Reading Program - Teen Volunteer Opportunities

Interested in volunteering? The Youth & Teen Services Departments are looking for students going into grades 7-12 to assist with the Summer Reading Program. Volunteers should be able to work with computers and be friendly, outgoing, and enjoy working with people of all ages. Applications to volunteer are available online ( www.novilibrary.org ). Tie Dye Day!

Fitness Training Workshop

Join Marybeth Housner, certified personal trainer and fitness instructor, for a one hour fitness class to improve overall fitness. Participants will start with a cardio/dance segment followed by a strength training segment then ending with yoga/stretch.

Summer Reading Program Lock-In Finale Party

Teens going into grades 7-12 are invited to hang out at the Library after hours! We’ve got a lot of fun stuff planned including games, prizes, pizza, and an ice cream sundae

Teens must have completed the Summer Reading Program or volunteered throughout the summer to participate in the finale party. Permission slip required for entry.

Tween Spelling Bee

Participate in the Novi Public Library’s spelling bee just for students going into grades 5-6, or come cheer on your favorite speller! If you take part in the spelling bee, be sure to check our website or come into the Library for a list of the words that might be included (there will be other words used as well). The list will be available online and in the Library on August 9.
