MLK Day: The Power of Unity Breakfast, Celebration & Essay Contest
Let's celebrate unity! Join us for a delicious hot breakfast, music from area schools, spoken word, and fellowship. Youth, teens, and adults may submit a poem or essay, 100 words or less, on "The Power of Unity". Winners will be selected from each age category, announced at the breakfast, and allowed to read their submission. Finalists will receive a unity certificate of recognition. Children will make unity cookies, bracelets, and other crafts. Email essays and poems to Gail Anderson between December 26th-January 8th. Include name, grade, school, and contact information. Children must provide parent or guardian contact information. Children may also make unity cookies, friendship bracelets and other crafts in the Activities Room.

Sensory Sunday is a before hours story time for children of all ages with special needs, their siblings, and parents/caregivers. Join us for fine/gross motor activities, songs, finger plays and stories in a small and relaxed environment. If other story times have not been the right fit for your child, this may be just what you are looking for! Registration is limited to 12 children.
Saturdays, 1-2 pm
This fun program will introduce children to the creative process of art. Children will listen to a story and then create their own unique and original art by focusing on the experience and exploration of techniques, tools, and materials. We might get messy, so please dress accordingly.
Dog Days at the Library
Read to a dog! Children are encouraged to practice their reading skills with a very patient listener: a therapy dog. For readers in grades K-6. **Registration is required. Please call the library to schedule a 15 minute appointment between 6:30pm and 8:00pm**
Stuffed Animal Sleepover
Bring your special stuffed friend for an overnight adventure in the library. Enjoy fun crafts, sharing stories, and tucking in your special friend for his/her sleepover. Come back the following day to pick up your friend and hear all about their fun adventures.

Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration
Come help us celebrate Dr. Seuss’ Birthday! There will be stories, food and fun for all!

AAUW Let’s Read Math
Partnering with American Association of University Women-Novi Northville Chapter for 2nd and 3rd graders and their parent/guardian to explore three books and provide math extension activities for each in concepts such as money, measurement, polygons, etc. Good literature and math will be combined in a fun environment. At the end of the series, students will receive a free book with a math connection. Attendance at all three sessions is encouraged.

After Hours Minecraft Party!
Join us in the celebration of our three Minecraft servers! Spend time with all your favorite mobs and you create whatever you can imagine.*Participation Waiver Mandatory.
Miniature Golf in the Library
Can you shoot par in Picture Books? Birdie the Nonfiction? Drop in and play a few holes of miniature golf right here in the Novi Library Youth Department.
